Anime Squadron Gear Guide: Crafting Recipes, Sets and Best Gear

Use this Anime Squadron gear guide to decide what to craft, what to skip, and which materials to save for awakenings. Gear is not just a stat table: the wrong craft can block Woo, Puppeteer, or another long-term upgrade route.

Quick answer: do not craft every gear piece just because you can. Save Monarch Daggers materials if you are building Woo, prioritize role-matching Mythic pieces for long-term units, and use Rare/Epic/Legendary gear only when it solves an immediate progression wall.

How Gear Crafting Works

Gear is crafted from Gold plus stage materials. Most materials come from story-stage farming across Marine Lobby, Ninja / Leaf Village, and GT City style routes.

1. Go to the Crafting NPC

Head to the Upgrades area in the lobby and interact with the Crafting NPC. Pick the gear piece before you farm so you know the exact material list.

2. Check material bottlenecks

Do not spend raid-style materials casually. If a material also appears in an awakening path, it may be more valuable than the stat gain from an optional craft.

3. Craft for a role

Carry units want damage stats. Tanks want HP and defense. Support and control units may value cooldown and ability cooldown more than raw damage.

Gear Set Bonuses

Set bonuses matter when the effect matches the unit role. A weak stat match can still be worse than a strong standalone Mythic piece.

Best Gear by Role

Use this as the practical decision layer after checking the full recipe table.

DPS / boss damage

Start with Devil Sword or crit / damage pieces when the unit already has strong damage uptime. Do not craft DPS gear for units you plan to replace soon.

Tank / frontliner

Use HP, DEF, cooldown, and hit-scaling pieces. The Puppeteer set is the clearest role fit for units expected to take repeated hits.

Support / control

Cooldown and ability cooldown can be better than raw damage if the unit’s job is to apply control, buffs, or utility more often.

Awakening target

If Woo is your target, Monarch Daggers outrank normal gear crafts because they unlock a unit transformation path instead of only adding stats.

Do Not Waste Gold

Gold is easy to spend and annoying to replace when an awakening route suddenly needs it.

Rule 1: Unit first, gear second

Check the tier list before crafting. A great gear piece on a temporary unit is still a temporary upgrade.

Rule 2: Save awakening materials

Do not spend Eclipse Godstone, Chakra Fragment, or King's Haki Residue until you know whether Woo, Puppeteer, or another Secret route needs them.

Rule 3: Use cheap gear to clear walls

Rare and Epic gear are fine when they help you clear the next stage. They are not a reason to delay a stronger Mythic or awakening path.

Anime Squadron Gear FAQ

FAQ content is visible in the HTML.

What is the best gear in Anime Squadron?

For most players, the best gear depends on role. DPS units want damage, crit, cooldown, and range value. Tanks and frontliners want HP, DEF, cooldown, and sustain-friendly pieces. Monarch Daggers are special because they are tied to Woo awakening.

How do I craft gear in Anime Squadron?

Go to the Upgrades area in the lobby, interact with the Crafting NPC, choose the gear piece, confirm the required Gold and materials, then craft it.

Should beginners craft gear early?

Beginners should avoid spending too much Gold on gear before they know which carry or Secret unit they are keeping. Start with cheap upgrades only if they solve a current clear problem.

Which gear awakens Woo?

Monarch Daggers are the Secret gear piece tied to Woo's awakening route into Woo (Shadow). Save the required raid materials if Woo is your target.

Next Steps

Gear decisions should come after codes and unit selection.
